Travel Update Due to Coronavirus (Covid-19)
30 OCTOBER 2023
Updated Cancellation Terms to Help with Unpredictable Travel Circumstances

Due to the Coronavirus, we have amended our cancellation policies. We aim to reassure all our guests with new terms to help you make important travel decisions.

Our focus allows you to:
– Book a bike tour with a responsible company that offers flexible booking.
– Eliminate or minimize your risk of facing cancellation fees by offering credits.
– Use any credit you may have with us for tour bookings that were disrupted by Coronavirus.

With vaccinations and testing available, travelling safely and getting back to a sense of ‘normality’ is real. Being a local tour operator, we appreciate how trying this situation is for everyone with this affecting all communities worldwide, yours and ours. The knock-on consequences to our local communities (family run hotels, restaurants, support staff etc) has been incredibly difficult. We added extra dates to our tour schedules for 2023 and in 2024 are offering even more options to enjoy cycling and for those with credits, to be able to plan accordingly. Plus private and custom tours are open on most of our routes – please ask!

The safety of our guests and teams are always our highest concern and we work hard to react and adapt to the fast-moving situation. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we maintain a policy of being responsive to all concerned. We have been operating cycling holidays for 20 years and continue to do so having weathered previous world and financial crises.

Are Cycling Country Tours Running?

We continue to monitor the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the local government agencies for all countries we visit. We take advice from these sources and act accordingly.

Currently, tours are running, as advertised. Please check current travel regulations with your country of origin. We will contact all booked guests to provide further details about alternative arrangements and options, if necessary.

Keeping you Safe on our Tours

We provide advice to our tour leaders and guides so they can be vigilant about potential exposure to the virus for our guests and themselves. They are vaccinated themselves, aware of the symptoms and the current protective measures.

We will cancel or amend trips if required to ensure your safety, and will contact you to offer alternative options.

Should I Travel?

Our advice is that each guest’s decision on whether to travel is their own. While we are happy to answer questions, inform and share updates from health authorities, we recommend that before you travel:

• consult your own medical doctor if you have any doubts about your health and risk profile
• obtain guidance from your country’s travel advisory service
• understand the current travel regulations and documentation (including health certificates) required to travel

RECOMMENDED – Covid Travel Insurance

In this unpredictable environment, we cannot state how important travel insurance is. Personal travel and medical insurance is obligatory when booking with us. However we recommend, at the time of booking, purchasing a travel insurance policy that covers Coronavirus related disruptions and cancellations for your peace of mind. In this way, if you cancel due to Coronavirus, you will be covered. Please check the terms of coverage with your travel insurance company.

What are your Cancellation Terms?

To remain flexible, we have lowered our deposits when booking to secure your trip and allow for possible credits in the event of a cancellation.
Our cancellation policy is:

(i) More than 90 days before departure date: deposit credited for any future tour booked with us (any credit is valid for 18 months from cancellation date), or deposit 100% refunded minus a fee of €50 per person. (Custom tours, private tours, La Vuelta tours and self-guided tours in England: deposit is forfeited).
(ii) Final balance is due 65 days before departure date.
(iii) 65-90 days before departure date: deposit is forfeited.
(iv) 30–64 days before departure date: 50% of holiday price is forfeited or 60% credit for any future tour booked with us.
(v) 21-29 days before departure date: 85% of holiday price is forfeited or 25% credit for any future tour booked with us.
(vi) Less than 21 days before departure date: 100% of holiday price is forfeited.

If you are unable to undertake the holiday due to circumstances that would normally permit you to make a claim on a travel insurance policy, you may transfer the booking to another person. A fee of €50 will be charged, plus any other related costs.

Please do contact us to clarify any of our policies, doubts or any questions you may have. We aim to be fair in dealing with everyone in these unpredictable times.

Let’s all keep healthy and we look forward to seeing you on the open road soon.
